What is the Dyson doing moving into the toothbrush brand ?

Dyson isn’t just bringing another electric toothbrush to the market. It’s combining a toothbrush, water flosser, intraoral camera, AI, and app into one device. Dyson is a brand I first knew for its vacuums and home appliances. Its expansion into hair dryers was the beginning of its growth into the beauty category. This feels more like a luxury investment, and Dyson describes the device as a way to brush, floss, and rinse all in one.

A Few Facts About the Toothbrush

One of the most interesting features is the built-in camera, which uses a 100,000-pixel micro camera to capture images from inside your mouth. This is technology that, not too long ago, was primarily associated with the dentist’s office.

AI is implemented to help identify the gaps between the teeth. Dyson calls this technology Gap Optical Targeting. Its purpose is to capture 28 images per second to help locate areas that may need additional attention.

The live view connects to the Dyson app, allowing users to view their cleaning process and access guided-cleaning features.

The sustainable aspects of the product include its replaceable battery, which uses a Dyson lithium-ion battery designed to hold power for up to 10 days. The brush is designed with dual-brush cleaning technology to clean along the gum line, while RFID technology monitors brush-head usage.

The product is priced at $499.99 USD and comes in Ceramic Pink and Ceramic Ultra Blue.
