Furry Rain Days ( My Pet Look )

This is the start of pets being included in my looks. Since probably the early 2000s, that’s the first time I really started seeing the presence of miniature and small pets within fashion. But, of course, we know that throughout history and in different parts of the world, pets have been more than just creatures of comfort or companions, as they’re usually described in a Western context.

Of course, there’s the cliché “a man’s best friend,” referring to dogs. But pets have also been seen as royalty, specifically cats, with breeds like the Siamese cat, or dogs like the Chow Chow, representing different parts of the world and their cultures.

I’m so excited to start growing into the different elevations of how and why these brands matter because they take something traditional and add this sense of personalization. When pets aren’t even considered pets anymore—they’re people’s kids—why not add that into the conversation?

And, of course, I know you may be thinking, “Are your next daughters going to be included? What are you going to add next, kidswear or something like that?” Who knows? That may be way, way in the future.

But I really, really want to immerse myself and flourish in this series of looks and styling that I can create and give to you guys. I see the views, and I know this is something that hits close to home for a lot of people. It’s definitely close to home for me, and I genuinely love the love and support.

So, stay tuned, because this is a Fur Rain day! It’s really the raincoats featuring these brands, and the product photography is adorable. I couldn’t help but make this the first look.
