Etro x Birkenstock Collection

Taking a basic essential that isn’t necessarily considered the most fashionable item and transforming it is smart. I feel that the most successful collaborations are the ones that don’t look completely different from the qualities of the original, but instead add a level of taste that is without comparison.

Codec Collection Little Miss Series

This was something I saw that connected with me and my own childhood through the Little Miss series—a collection of cartoon characters representing different personalities. It was the first mood-based character series I remember being popular in the early 2000s while growing up.

I discovered the brand Codec Creations on Instagram, where they were selling bags featuring these playful characters. Most definitely a conversation starter!

Jayden James for Mac Cosmetics

The magazine covered Jayden James, also known as Britney Spears’ son, who is on the rise as a model. Most recently, he walked in the Vetements show in June during Fashion Week. I feel like we’ll be seeing more of him.

Lauryn Hill for Citizen Mag

Lauryn Hill has always been considered a style icon, and Citizen Magazine’s coverage of her connected with that legacy even more. These were just a few of the many quotes from the Citizen interview, where she talks about reclaiming her own narrative.

“I stopped speaking to/through the press quite some time ago when it became clear to me that one particular writer and publication had little insight into what my experience actually was and at the time had little interest. They felt entitled to portray whatever got them the attention they were seeking. People are entitled to say whatever they want, but not with my participation.”

Hair Inspo moodboard

Is it just me, or has the rise of blonde hair been getting more intense over the past few months? As an expressive hair person myself, with my three-tone box braids, I’ve always been drawn to everything from vibrant to subtle wigs and extensions as part of the beauty shift.

I can see us looking back over the next five years and viewing the rise of colored hair completely differently. These were just a few of the many examples I’ve been seeing.

Tinashe for Cycle 06

Being a Tinashe stan for the entire span of her career—I know that’s a lot to say, but it’s something I genuinely mean. There’s something special about seeing your favorites become more elevated. This feels like a new pop-star era.

I love running across a new digital magazine, and Cycle was one of those discoveries. This was the 06 issue. Similar to Lauryn Hill’s feature, but in a completely different context.

Soft neon glam from Katie

This soft, neon, fun-glam aesthetic from Glam by Ester has taken over my entire feed. I was just as excited to see the shift from natural beauty toward something more playful and expressive.

You guys know how I style… are we really surprised at this point?

Mariah the Scientist special guest for Chxrry

Mariah the Scientist was a special guest for Chxrry, the XO “First Lady,” during her EGO Tour in Atlanta. It was so crazy because the show was right across the street from one of my buildings at SCAD. I love that for her!

I’m always happy to see an artist like Mariah the Scientist continue to expand, especially with how much her music has been played here. They’ve been playing “Burning Blue” like no other, but “Bottle” and “Lights” were definitely worth experiencing as live performances.

House of Z surrealist

The House of Z is the fictional surrealism I needed to see more of, especially because of its mix of art history and pop culture. Some people love science fiction, while others love surrealism in art. For me, it’s just my thing.

80s Cyan and brown duo fit

This fit made me stop scrolling on the Explore page because I was immediately in love with the playful color scheme. It’s one of those looks that a girly girl of any size could wear and probably walk away with a handful of compliments.

Naked x Copenhagen x Nike Shox Z

Kinda chic to know that Nike Shox are so underrated, especially when styled with that bowler-side look. The Naked x Copenhagen collaboration brings together the sneaker with the fashion influence and design culture that Copenhagen is known for.
