(Watch Here):“Giving People What They Want” : Law Roach Take Schiaparelli from Runway to The Odyssey Red Carpet
Who would have ever thought that a ghetto boy from the South Side of Chicago would be loved in Paris?
The YouTube shows that what others may perceive as effortless is actually the result of intentional work. Law explains that there is a difference between simply picking a dress that looks beautiful and creating a complete storyline. When the Schiaparelli piece was selected straight from the runway, it became more than just a garment. As Law says, “Some of the artists like to be a part of the story.”
The craftsmanship and leatherwork were key focal points throughout the process. A few special guests included Pat McGrath, Anna Wintour, and Daniel Roseberry. Viewers also catch a brief exchange between Law Roach and Scott Evans.
All it took was seeing model Ivy Stewart wear the iconic piece from Schiaparelli for Law to recognize the vision. From models and PR professionals to writers and photographers, Law works with every part of the team to find the right people and build meaningful connections. He was constantly on the clock, even waiting backstage to pick up the dress before flying with it to the fitting.
With only five hours remaining until The Odyssey premiere, Law Roach and his team worked against the clock. The final reveal of Zendaya wearing the dress demonstrated that every detail had been worth the effort. Seeing the entire look come together reminded me that every successful creative project requires planning, collaboration, and intention. The second look featured a Valentino design.
