One of the most iconic cereal brand commercials during my childhood as a Gen Z was the Reese’s Puffs ad. You never think of mediocrity when it comes to their feral ads with a rap commercial. The cereal pool was pictured as a swimming pool, with Glorilla rapping on the edge of the bowl. The consistent switch in perspective was a playful touch. The color tones connected to the Reese’s tab, with a brown and orange color palette.
Switching from the video’s art direction to the styling and fashion collection — I often see it as a hard niche, especially for brands outside the fashion industry, to make a collection without it being a collaboration with another fashion brand. Instead, the collaboration taps into Glorilla’s creative styling. The boutique-sized clothing line features a Reese’s Puffs brown bomber jacket, T-shirt, and baseball cap.
The T shirt has Glorilla’s logo featuring “Eat ‘Em Up” on the back, with her in the bomber jacket, grills on, smiling, and wearing a Reese’s Puffs gold chain
The Glorrila, Reese’s Puff Letterman Jacket including ceral box including the cereal box design, plays on the varsity jacket/school bomber aesthetic with patchwork details. The burnt orange, cream white, and mocha brown appear on the collar, wrist, and bottom hem of the jacket. The patchwork includes the number 26, a bowl of cereal, and “RP” and “Glorilla” on the front breast of the jacket, while the gold lettering of “Glorilla x Reese’s Puffs” is on the back.
The Glorilla x Reese Puff cap cap is simplistic, with two small pin details.
This is one of my favorite collaborations between a rapper and a mainstream food brand so far.
