
Hi, to re introduce myself I am Nyla the creator of the lifestyle magazine and blog Love Chic Lifestyle. When I first started college I was focused on strength my self as an editorial writer. From the time I was freshmen year I always wanted to pick topics that connect to my character and thing things that bring me the most passion.
As my road of being a more consistent creator during this Winter quarter studying Advertising & Branding with a focus in Art Direction and minor in Fashion Photography. My advice and tips are things as someone that is still studying the craft advice on how I get better.
Writing
During my freshmen year when I studied Writing even though we did piece on memoirs , narratives and person stories. One of my favorite course was my fashion writing course where I did my first “off – the – cuff” interviews. Here are a few advice & tips.
- Most reliable source for fashion week go to – Show Studio , WWD or women’s wear Daily & Vogue Runway.
- Do 10min writing practice on a daily.
- Be involved in listening to podcast of your focused subject.
- Reading focused on the your passion.
- Learning a new language .
Photography
When I made the switch to photography. I wanted to become a stronger photography off my academy I got accepted to in the past. It helped me to push outside of my comfort zone. It taught me how to become a stronger photographer within the way I edit my photos.
- Focus on learning ISO , Aperture and Shutter Speed in’s and outs.
- Take the time to practice product photography.
- Go outside of your confort zone.
- Follow different photographer on social media.
- Find the right equipment ~ it doesn’t always mean a new camera.
Advertising & Branding
When I made my final switch for me I wanted to build on the information that I learned. What grew me to major was more than social media advertiment but art direction of stores , launches of new products and new music. As well as the mix media work
- Layout the product you are selling with the focus of finding a typography then specifically – hierarchy and scale an consistent design.
- Asking what is a question that someone wants to answer with your products.
- Document your personal process on social media.
- Finding people help sell your product.
- Take advantage of seasonal activity and key words in your marketing.
