Dear Love Chic Lifestyle Family,
I hope all is well if you are new here, my name is Nyla and I write about Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle topics as well as putting you on to new artists and creatives. A few years ago, I started this series called “Positive and Peaceful Photography” with a post featuring a mixed media of writing and photography. The “positive” quotes or affirmations changed my mindset, and “Photography” features visuals that connect with the quotes.
Please note: I am NOT a therapist or self-help enthusiast but a student, writer, and visual artist that likes sharing experiences, and tips I have learned. I know everyone is on their own journey.

I know my value and will not lessen or shrink myself for anything or anyone.

It can be hard but setting standards and boundaries in my day-to-day life allowed me to be more productive and achieve more. In addition to not striving to be anyone because “my value” connects to the journey, God and I are on and can’t be changed by anyone else.

Someday you will look back on all the progress you made and be so glad you didn’t give up when you felt like that was your only option. (@quotesbychristie – Quotes by Christie)

This quote connects perfectly to when you learn a skill, no one gets it right the first time. At times it can be frustrating, not understanding the reason certain events happen but being consistent in the process can lead to meeting the goal.

You’re allowed to change your mind about what you want in life.

As a kid growing up, there was a multitude of career paths I looked at. While I tried new things I was open to changing my mind. I realized that growing into the person I wanted to be meant accepting things could change. This is sometimes challenging but it can bring the most joy.

This week is my week of growth, love, and abundance.

This affirmation reflects the way I start off my week by praying and speaking affirmations. I would treat every day like a fresh clean slate meaning the mistakes I would change or move on from and the things I needed to let go of I did. Through time and practice, I focus on the present not reflect on the wrongs or relive a moment but treat it like a new day. The best way I spend my morning is with affirmation, praying, writing, or exercising to keep my mind and body charged up for the day.

It’s easy to love the nice things about ourselves but true self-love is embracing the difficult parts that live in all of us.

Glamorizing the highs our achievement only comes from all the time, consistency, and progress of achieving the goal. When I have grace for myself by taking breaks this was purposeful because it helps to deal with the uncomfortable by stepping away analyzing it by gathering my thoughts to offer a fresh mindset.

The secret to getting unstuck is to radically accept where you’re at now, with grace. Let go of expecting perfection out of yourself. You won’t always be your most productive, make perfect decisions, or get it right. A little self-compassion will take you a long way.

Based on Psych Central studies in 2021 “Habit formation can take an average of 59 to 70 days” which comes with mistakes, time, and rest. As I mentioned previously having grace can go a lot further than beating yourself up over things.
This is easier said than done but what I am learning is the journey of the 59 to 70 days is more satisfying than just seeing the results immediately.
~Plus, the challenges make great stories to tell. 🙂
Thank you for reading,
Nyla
